September 5, 1774 - The First Continental Congress Convenes
This first assembly was from September 5th to October 26th. The "Suffolk Resolves" were approved. The creation of the Continental Association, A published version of American rights. A petition to the king listing American complaints
September 17, 1777 -Siege of Fort St. Jean.
The Siege of Fort St. Jean (also John) and the Battle of Quebec were driven by three things: to prevent Canada being used against America by Britain; to win over the French in Canada; and to eventually include Quebec as part of the United States.
September 22, 1776 - Nathan Hale executed in New York
"I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country." Executed by the British, His tragic end would inspire a nation, and he is remembered more as a martyr than as a spy.
